Signature Brine Soap

Brine - or Soleseife - soap is a traditional German crafting technique. The method originated centuries ago in coastal regions of Germany and Central Europe where artisans used local seawater to harness the calming and hardening properties of marine minerals. One can make a "brine" soap by just adding salt to water. Utilizing seawater, however, one gains the benefits of the minerals and salts inherent in the seawater.

Ascent Soap Co.'s brine soaps are made using the Pacific Northwest's Puget Sound seawaters. The water is collected, boiled, strained, and incorporated into the soapmaking process.
